re:CASSETTE
re:Cassette is a 4-track EP released on March 27th, 2023. It was made as part of a paid creative fellowship for my college. I wrote a short paper about my goals and timeline for the project and later presented the EP at a student conference.
The goal of re:Cassette was to explore coming-of-age themes over silky retro-synthwave instrumentals. It was produced and performed entirely by me over the course of one year. I also designed the album art which serves as the design language for this entire website!
This website is home to the re:Cassette 4-Track Experience wherein you can remix all four songs in supported browsers.
SLASHES
slashes is a 6-song concept album featuring my debut vocal performance. It was released alongside two additional bonus songs. The entire album was written and produced entirely by me, with vocalist Lauren Lewis featured on the song goodbye. A "slowed + reverb" version was released a month after the original record.
slashes explores various themes of codependency throughout its 29-minute runtime. It tells a vague story between two lovers who ultimately find peace after being torn apart. It was the first album I released in college. I performed three songs at a student show on campus and the record was featured in the university's online publication.
A THOUSAND WORLDS
A Thousand Worlds is an instrumental electronic album I produced in high school. This record showcases the beginngings of my electronic composition. From soothing synth pads to pumping beats to a beautiful solo piano interlude, this album really feels like a journey through a thousand digital worlds. Listeners have told me that many of the 10 tracks sound like they're straight out of a video game. It's my favorite release to just throw on and chill out to.
SINGLES
I have a few songs from high school that do not exist as part of an album:
• The Strangers is a a four-movement piano + string arrangement of a marching band show I wrote.
• I Miss the Old Yankey is a parody of Kanye West's song I Love Kanye. I changed the lyrics to make a silly music video about my teacher.
• Fuck You, Coronavirus (Youtube exclusive) was a diss track I made in response to an unfortunate event that occured in 2020. I let some of my friends be in the music video from their homes.
