Information We DO NOT Collect

Scrambordle does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to our servers. We do not:

• Collect your name, email address, or contact information
• Track your location
• Access your contacts, photos, or other personal data
• Store any data on external servers (except for iCloud sync, as described below)
• Use analytics or tracking services
• Share your data with third parties

Local Data Storage

All game data is stored locally on your device, including:

• Game statistics (puzzles solved, streaks, scores)
• Your puzzle progress and game states
• Settings and preferences

iCloud Sync

If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, Scrambordle uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your game data across your devices. This includes:

• Game statistics and achievements
• Current puzzle states (daily and unlimited modes)
• Game preferences

Important points about iCloud sync:

• iCloud sync is automatic if you're signed in to iCloud
• Your data is stored in your private iCloud storage
• We cannot access your iCloud data
• Your data syncs only between your own devices signed in to the same iCloud account
• iCloud data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy
• You can disable iCloud for Scrambordle in your device Settings

Word Definitions

When you tap a guessed word to view its definition, Scrambordle uses the Free Dictionary API (api.dictionaryapi.dev) to fetch the definition. This feature:

• Only activates when you choose to view a word definition
• Sends only the word itself to the API (no personal information)
• Requires an internet connection
• May expose your IP address to the API service provider
• Is completely optional - you can play the game without ever using this feature

The Free Dictionary API is a free, open-source service. We do not control their data practices. For more information, visit dictionaryapi.dev.

Analytics

Scrambordle does not use any analytics services. We do not track how you use the app, which features you access, or how long you play.

Children's Privacy

Scrambordle does not knowingly collect any personal information from children or anyone else. The app is designed to be used without creating an account or providing any personal information.

Data Security

Since all game data is stored locally on your device and we do not operate any servers:

• Your data security is managed by your device's operating system
• iCloud synced data is protected by Apple's security measures
• We recommend using device passcodes and keeping your iOS updated for optimal security

Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over your data:

• Delete Local Data: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
• Disable iCloud Sync: Turn off iCloud for Scrambordle in iOS Settings
• Delete iCloud Data: Disable iCloud sync and delete the app from all your devices

Third-Party Services

Scrambordle uses the following third-party services:

• Apple CloudKit - For syncing game data between your devices (Privacy Policy)
• Free Dictionary API - For fetching word definitions when requested (Website)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Data Retention

Your local game data persists until you uninstall the app. iCloud data persists until you delete the app from all devices connected to your iCloud account and disable iCloud sync for Scrambordle.

International Users

Scrambordle is available worldwide. Your data is stored on your device and, if enabled, in your iCloud account. iCloud data location is determined by your Apple ID country setting and Apple's data center locations.
